"What a beautiful, relaxing place to stay as we celebrated our 40th birthday. We have enjoyed floating in the pool, the sea turtles, the views, and the walking down to the beach.

Our favorite memories include beach days around the island, Ted's supper club if you want to eat in, charter boat and the USVI for some awesome snorkel spots, and our favorite Extra Virgin Restaurant.

"In my opinion, you will not find a better place to stay on St John than Ditleff Point. You will not find a better place to stay on Ditleff than Kaleidoscope Villa. We took our adult kids and it was an amazing place to unwind after 20 months being locked up with Covid. The owners (Jack and Mary) are amazing to work with and they have thought of everything. "Our family of 7 had a wonderful stay at the Villa. Beautiful outside area to soak up The sun and have afternoon drinks and dinner. "I am a VRBO veteran but sometimes the property is not as described. Not in the case of Kaleidoscope. This is a fabulous house, laid out perfectly so you can use the main area and not disturb anyone in the bedrooms, the view is fantastic, it really is a private beach, the terrace area is fantastic, kitchen very functional - it's fantastic. I highly recommend this to anyone traveling to St. John. I cant imagine a better way to vacation.

"We spent a week at Kalediscope in June of 2021. Can’t say enough wonderful thing about the property and the owner. Jack takes amazing pride in his home and it certainly shows. The home is beautiful and has everything you need and more. The view is one you will not tire of. Getting into town is a 10 minute drive so you are in a remote location but close enough to hop into town or grab groceries if needed. Jack is amazingly easy to work with and eager to share the beauty of his home with his guests. We will certainly be back next time we choose St. John. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else!"

I should have known a Minnesotan (your wife Mary) was involved in setting up your beautiful Villa in total and complete perfection…confirming “Minnesota Nice.” Lee, Ann, Chris and I challenged each other to find something not thought of in furnishings and/or accessories at Kaleidoscope…and found none, of course. If we needed something, it was there – and in various sizes. It was amazing!!! The one and only thing we mentioned needed was soap dishes in outside showers. Your terrific soap stuck to beautiful shelves, but we made it work. Your place is magical, memorable, relaxing, gorgeous and perfect in every way. I’ll be 82 in two weeks and short so purchased a step stool to aid me in getting in car and tall bed. I left it for others if needed. I’m counting the days when I can return to your place and enjoy my 14th trip to St. John, and enjoy even a longer time, hopefully. A little piece of Heaven on earth!!

"We have rented many houses on St John over the past 20 years and yours is the only one we have returned to many times! The location is perfect, the layout of the house is perfect, the condition of the house is always perfect and you treat your renters well and the rates are good! You have a good plan, your house is the only one I have seen that has a near 100 rental rate - that is saying something.

Is there anything you need us to take down? It is just the two of us on the plane so we will have room.

My family has had the great privilege of being guests at Kaleidoscope five times. I've written a couple of reviews of the property before and I encourage you to read those as background. As you've hopefully figured out by now, Kaleidoscope is a very high end villa rental. Believe everything you see in the pictures and read on the reviews: it's one of the most beautiful homes in the world---inside and outside. Incredible views, amazing construction, 100 top-line amenities, etc. It really just doesn't get any better. I won't waste more time repeating my previous posts because I want to get to what many want to know: how are things after the 2017 hurricanes? We just got back from our most recent stay and had a fantastic, relaxing time. Many people questioned our decision to stick with our usual April break trip to STJ given the horrendous 2017 hurricanes that caused so much damage to many Caribbean islands, STJ included. However, we had great information about how STJ was faring thanks primarily to Jack. He gave us regular updates on how the island was doing and helped us figure out a great place to donate to help out (Kenny Chesney's foundation). We stuck with our original vacation plan and couldn't be happier with our decision. The villa is better than perfect. You'd never know that a couple hurricanes had been through. Everything was immaculate as always, plus Jack did a few upgrades as well. For instance, the new Sonos speaker system throughout the property is great. The island as a whole is doing pretty well. All the national park beaches are open, clean, and beautiful. The vast majority of restaurants/shops are open and the islanders are so happy to welcome us visitors back. I'd highly encourage everyone to get to STJ ASAP before the crowds return---and, of course, wish I could give Kaleidoscope six stars.

"The Kaleidoscope Villa is absolutely amazing. The location is very convenient to Cruz Bay. The views are unparalleled. The 4 bedrooms are very private, each with their own bathrooms and the main house is perfect for gathering and eating together. The pool area is great for swimming or lounging in the sun and star gazing at night. There is everything you could possibly need or want as an amenity (i.e.: beach chairs, coolers, beach towels, snorkel gear, board games, ice maker, all kitchen necessities, etc.). We have stayed here many times dating back to 2011. The Kaleidoscope is meticulously maintained and looks the same as it did on our very first visit when it was brand new. The island of St John is hard at work making a comeback. Cruz Bay is mostly up and running with a few exceptions such as Warfside Village, which is currently under construction and looks like it will be more beautiful than ever. We were impressed with the amount of progress considering it has only been 5 months since the hurricanes of September 2017. It just goes to show how passionate people are about this paradise. It is more than just an island, it is a feeling you get when you are there. The beaches were actually larger and water is still crystal clear blue. Most restaurants were open, Morgan's Mango opened while we were there. All food and service was great. We were happy to be there to support tourism and were lucky enough to stay at this amazing villa."

We have been to a lot of islands and villas, but St. John and your villa is the best we have ever stayed at, simply because of the love you guys put into it. Money can buy anything, but your villa reflects the work of someone who really put their heart into the project.

I viewed a pic online of the new sandy beaches at the end of your beach trail, how appropriate! We kayaked from those when they were rocky, the landings weren’t pretty, but there may have been some alcohol involved.

Thanks for the St. John updates, we plan to return in March.

Wow! The villa is breathtaking when you enter.

The drive to Ditleff point has some pretty steep hills & tight turns but we had no problem getting to & from the villa. I would recommend 4 wheel drive as the hills can be slippery if it rains.

There are LOTS of games at the house.

The kitchen is GREAT to cook in. We appreciated that they have 2 refrigerators inside as well as one in the outside bar. They have a separate ice maker which is awesome. So smart. Can't believe this is the 1st luxury villa we've stayed in that had one!

They have lots of snorkel equipment if you don't want to bring your own.

Fun to sit in the hot tub at night & watch the stars.

The provide beach chairs that are super comfortable & easy to carry to the beach. We were even asked about the chairs by other folks when at the beach. Speaking of the beach, We liked that we could take highway 104 across the top of the island to get to the far north beaches like Maho or the beaches past Coral Bay like Salt Pond & Ram's Head.

The owners provide complimentary beach bags that you get to take home as a momento of your stay. Very thoughtful.

The beds are super comfortable. We slept great. Probably because we were in paradise.

There are plenty of hangars in the closets. Surprisingly we've found this isn't always the case In other vacation rentals.

3 of the bedrooms have outdoor showers which are usually great. The master can be breezy & a little chilly. The others have less breeze. There is 1 indoor shower in the bedroom by the master bath if one prefers to use it. The bedrooms are not the same size but are all well appointed.

The outdoor area by the pool looking out to sea is fantastic when you hang out at the house.

You can watch turtles in the bay to the left of the villa. We really wanted to go down to the bay & swim with them there but we its a steep hike to get to the water & it sounds like it's too rough to swim with them. :( I loved sitting on the master bedroom porch and watching them.

The sound system is phenomenal. You can connect your own music through Apple TV or through an auxiliary port. There is Dish TV in each room.

Owners are super nice - even sent us a Christmas card prior to our stay!

Jane & Brian are great island hosts & will help answer any questions you have.

One night a black cat showed up on the back patio. He was really scared of us.

Loved that a private beach is a short walk down the road from the house (slightly up hill walk on the way back). There is a pull out where you can park your car too. The beach is rocky. You'll want good sandals (or watershoes) when you are on the beach. While it's a bit rocky to get into the water, there was good snorkeling going either direction (right or left from the beach). When we went left we saw 2 octopus. When you snorkel right there were lots of fish along the rocks. We also saw a big ray swimming along the rocks. We also enjoyed looking for shells on this beach.

Liked watching the cruise ships sail out of St. Thomas after sunset.

Sometimes you will see hermit crabs along the walkways between the villa rooms.

I would not suggest this villa for families with small children.

Also, It is frequently VERY WINDY on the outside patio. So much so that it can be difficult to eat outside or play games on the outside table.

This is a fantastic villa and you'll enjoy your stay. I look forward to going back!"

"As a preamble, my wife and I have rented villas/condos on a variety of Caribbean Islands (Anguilla, Turks & Caicos, Cayman Islands, Virgin Gorda, St. John, etc.) to the point that we know exactly what we like, want, and expect from a high end villa or condo. Should you visit St. John, look no further than Kaleidoscope Villa. Indeed, take a look at the recent (drone) video posted on the Kaleidoscope Villa website which is quite representative of the outside of the villa and its surrounding environs. I would point out that the inside of the Villa proper (kitchen, dining, living) as well as the four attached sleeping quarters (3 have awesome outdoor showers, all have outdoor porches) are as well appointed as the outside of Kaleidoscope Villa. My family stayed at Kaleidoscope about three summers ago (the Trip Advisors review may say the time of this post) and while looking at the newly posted video, it felt like yesterday. It’s not a matter of ‘if’ we return to Kaleidoscope Villa; it’s simply a matter of ‘when.’ The owners are Jack and Mary while my wife dealt directly, easily and comfortably with Jack. He spent quite a bit of time answering all of her questions and even fielded telephonic questions (from the USA) during our stay. The inside of the Villa has a bit of their personal artwork on show; some of it from their own vacations earlier in life. Quite simply, Kaleidoscope Villa has a good feel to it as great care and thought has gone into the construction and furnishings of the Villa. When we arrived at St. John by water ferry (or boat if you rented one), we were greeted by the steward/caretaker of Kaleidoscope Villa (I forget this name now) who picked us up, at the dock, took us to pick up our rental car and then escorted us directly to the Villa. Perfect. Kaleidoscope Villa is located on ‘Ditleff Point’. Ditleff is gated and home to a few secluded Villas, though this will change over time as the Point is further developed. Note that Jack and Mary recently purchased some additional adjacent land to Kaleidoscope Villa in order to preserve both the view and the seclusion. The Villa overlooks beautiful bays (check the video) to the left and right of the infinity swimming pool. I’m not sure which side of the Villa that the newly purchased land abuts. Upon entering the gated Ditleff Point, you sweep down the concrete private road and then turn left through another secured gate into a circular driveway announcing that you have arrived at your destination. Imagine walking up to the main house, doors swung wide (very welcoming), walking through the windswept main room, and then directly through the already open doors (also welcoming) onto the back patio. At this point your eyes are drawn to the infinity pool which stretches right into the Bay to the left of the house. It makes you want to jump right in then and there. Honestly, I can go on and on but you get the point by now. It is an immersive experience; one in which you have to live first-hand to appreciate. Summary List of Pros: All snorkeling fins/masks, beach chairs are stocked in abundance. Washer/Dryer, Infinity pool, private hot tub with a view, private lookout with a panoramic view, internet ready with a computer, incredible main house, incredible views, each private bedroom/living area is well appointed, outdoor baths (3), patios, private chef available, private walkway to two secluded bay beaches (not the best beaches on St John, but secluded). All Cons: Somewhat windy (but as a Pro, no bugs to speak of). A bit of a trip to the best beaches/cays and to the restaurants; offset by such a nice drive. Your week will go entirely too fast"

"We rented Kaleidoscope 3 years ago where we spent our 10 year anniversary. We were fortunate enough to be able to return with another couple. Kaleidoscope is a stunning villa. From the moment you enter the gated driveway and onto the beautiful landscaped grounds, this villa will take your breath away. The views are far superior in person. All four bedrooms have large spacious areas with outdoor showers and extremely comfortable king beds. The kitchen/great room area is decorated with such precise detail. The layout of the villa is designed where everyone can come together and dine inside or outside, and/or retreat to the privacy of their own bedroom with a full balcony. The outdoor area is perfect for eating breakfast or even hire a private chef to cook dinner. In addition, the infinity edge pool is so beautiful that it makes it hard to break away from the villa. The location of the villa is on Ditleff Point which is about a 15-20 minute drive to Cruz Bay. The drive is not bad with fully paved roads. The location is ideal on the south side of the island with drier weather and cool breezes compared to other locations on St. John. This was our second time staying at the villa and hope to return next year. The owner Jack is a delight to worth and is very informative with any questions you may have. If you have the opportunity, two words.... stay here. You won't regret it."

From the moment we drove up the drive and Justin opened the doors and said Welcome Home, it was as close to heaven that we will ever be, here on this earth that is. "Everything about Kaleidoscope is wonderful. This was the fourth time for our family in St John and clearly the nicest villa we rented. Over the four years my cousin and I have rented a total of 10 villas for our extended family. None compared to Kaleidoscope. The views are extraordinary and the house is up to date with every convenience one could ask for. Great bedroom suites, pool. Jacuzzi, five tv's and every appliance you could want. The kitchen is outstanding. It is well maintained with a cleaning service during the week. Justin, the property manager is available in the event of a problem. A major plus is Jack, the owner. Always reachable, he takes great pride in the villa. Dealing with Jack really made it special. You feel like you are staying at a good friend's home. The villa is in a very upscale area of the island. Look no further. This is where you want to stay."

"What a fabulous Villa, Kaleidoscope is! A treasure and great price for such an outstanding Villa! It is even more gorgeous than the pictures can convey. Pride is obvious, in the owners, the host and caretakers. Sparkling clean everywhere and beautifully appointed. The owners have thought of everything, even down to snorkel gear and water shoes while you're there. Love the speaker controls at every imaginable location throughout the house and exterior. The layout of the main living area and bedrooms being off to each side, make it great for being together and also having privacy in your own suite. The pool and pool bar are fabulous. The hot tub being on a different level is great for a bit more seclusion. The location of Kaleidoscope is absolutely the best on the island, close enough to Cruz Bay for shopping, dining out, etc., but very private, peaceful, and quiet when at the Villa. The stars at night are incredible due to the seclusion of the Villa. And, Oh the View! Spectacular sunrises and sunsets from the pool, upstairs gazebo, covered veranda, private balconies, etc.. We have stayed in other places on St. John before, but Kaleidoscope is absolutely our favorite Villa along with the location on Ditleff Point! Justin, the host, is an absolute delight and caters to your every wish, always smiling and positive. He communicates timely prior to your arrival and all throughout your stay. Justin is very helpful in suggesting side trips, restaurants, fun bars, etc.. Justin's wonderful first mate Piper is the best when it comes to a big warm smile and laugh. With notice, Piper is willing to take you in his taxi wherever you want to go; just pay him well as he is such a delight and always timely. If you are looking at this, you have found your dream Villa in Kaleidoscope! Book it! You will absolutely love it and not want to leave!"

"Amazing in every way!

My husband, son and I stayed at Kaleidoscope Villa July 21-28, 2012. I searched for a Villa rather late and Jack called me as soon as I submitted my request. He accommodated our party of three for the dates we needed and provided helpful information with contact numbers, tips and advice. Justin, the Villa caretaker met us at the ferry dock in St. John when we arrived and drove us to the car rental. Along the way, he showed us around the town. He then drove us to the Villa and showed us how everything worked. The service was excellent and everything that we would ever need was provided including snorkeling gear, beach towels, sunscreen, coolers, chairs, flashlights, binoculars and a gourmet kitchen stocked with appliances and utensils and a Weber grill. The Villa was private, secure, and we felt very safe. Each bedroom was separate from the great room and had comfortable mattresses and pillows. The furnishings were lovely. I took morning jogs and walks on our private road, used the outdoor shower and jumped in the infinity pool. My favorite aspects of the Villa were the quality construction, the attention to detail, the beautiful furnishings, the infinity pool and the lookout tower. My least favorite aspect was having to leave! Until next time...

"Breathtaking! Should be six stars!

We've been back from Kaleidoscope for a month now, and still can't get it off our minds! This is our fourth year in a row in St. John, and the fourth villa we've stayed in...we can't imagine St. John without Kaleidoscope - there are villas, and then there are villas! We were home less than a week before we just had to send a deposit for next year - we're addicted!

The pictures don't do it justice -- the panoramic view is something you have to see to believe! We must've seen 14 turtles surface in Fish Bay while we were lounging in the infinity pool!

Kaleidoscope leaves nothing to be desired - if you can think of it, Jack already has it available! And if by chance, there's something else you need - Justin is there in a flash to take care of you!

And the snorkeling in Rendezvous Bay around the point was an amazing adventure for my husband. He's still talking about the big manta rays they saw!

It's easy to see why Kaleidoscope was Flip Key's 2011 Villa of the year. Thanks again to Jack - and Justin! See ya next year!

"Believe the Hype---Seriously

My family has been fortunate enough to stay at many wonderful places throughout the world. Without a doubt, Kaleidoscope was the best. I spent many, many hours researching a spot for a mini family reunion in the Caribbean. Kaleidoscope on St. John kept popping up near the top of every list, chat room, blog, etc. No one had anything but glowing praise for the place which instantly made me suspicious. However, all of my attempts to find something bad about the place turned up empty. My wife finally called the question and we booked a week there despite my lingering concerns. I hate to admit it but she was right. Jack, the owner, was very helpful and responsive. As we got closer to the date, Justin the caretaker took over and was very helpful throughout our stay. When we got to the villa, the incredible internet pictures didn't do the place justice. Honestly, it is one of the most stunning homes and vistas on the planet. You have to consciously stop admiring the craftsmanship of the home to take in the amazing view which is saying something. My family spent hours over cocktails debating how on Earth they could build such a great place in such a relatively remote location. It must have taken many years and a lot of antacid! However you can't argue with the end result. On top of that, my mother-in-law kept commenting on how clean the place was. This from a woman who keeps bleach wipes in her handbag. I guess I'm giving all this weird detail because I was initially a big skeptic---I hate it when you only see 5 stars for a place. However, I can honestly say that it was truly great---no qualifiers. My family can't wait to go back next year. Ps if you're looking for a really great catered meal, try East West Catering. Pretty expensive, but very well worth it. One of the best meals I've ever had and having it done at Kaleidoscope was awesome.

"DREAM VACATION

One cannot even being to describe how memorable our stay was at this beautiful home. Not a single detail was missed when designing and building Kaleidoscope. My husband and I just turned 30 and enjoyed Kaleidoscope all to ourselves for an entire week. We love to get out on the water, lounge on the beaches, snorkel and explore the island but Kaleidoscope nearly made it impossible to want to leave. The views from this home are the most spectacular on the island. We enjoyed everything this home had to offer. Being able to hang out at the East edge of the pool and watch the sea turtles was truly an amazing experience. There has not been a single day since we returned home that we don’t dream of coming back to Kaleidoscope. We loved sitting by the pool or soaking in the hot tub at night and staring up at the beautiful starry sky. This home offers views for both sunrise and sunset and they are some of the most gorgeous that I have ever seen. If you arrive in the dark like we did, you will not be able to sleep your first night as you will be anticipating seeing this place in the daylight. You will absolutely be blown away. Look no further, Kaleidoscope promises to be a truly one of a kind experience.

"Amazing villa~excellent location.

Before heading down to St. John for my husband's 40th Birthday, the owner, Jack, was extremely friendly and helpful in planning our trip. Kaleidoscope Villa is gorgeous! Everything is brand new and top of the line~no expense spared! The location on Ditleff Point was awesome! We had terrific views of both Reef and Fish Bay and easy access for snorkeling, fishing and shell collecting...which kept all 6 adults very happy! The villa was very comfortable with every amenity! The four bedrooms were large and airy with outdoor patios overlooking the water! The outdoor showers were terrific! We hated to leave the Villa! Eating out at a few different restaurants was great! But cooking in or take out was great too so we could relax and enjoy the pool, hot tub and a glass of wine! The Villa manager, Justin, was awesome too! He was a great help with reservations and things to do on the island. We would highly recommend Kaleidoscope Villa for your next vacation to St. John. We will definitely come back! "OUTSTANDING TIME AT KALEIDOSCOPE!

When we found Kaleidoscope we we knew for certain this is where we wanted to take our friends of many years on vacation. We have been to St John a dozen times and this by far was the finest villa we have ever stayed in. The 4 master suites was ideal for our 4 couples and to hear their comments as we first arrived was priceless. The villa is so perfectly appointed with everthing you need to make your stay complete. The views are spectacular, teh breezes are outstanding, the quiet nature of Ditleff Point are perfect. We were so pleased. Over the years we have hiked Ditleff and fell in love with the location. It is perfect for our needs of having great time with great friends or simply a quiet spot to read a book or simply enjoy watching the sea turtles in the bays that surround you. Rendevous Bay which is just a quick walk away is terrific for snorkeling. The location is close to Cruz bay and not that far from Coral Bay. We will most certainly return

"A's all the way!

It's a's all the way! The house is astounding with never-ending ocean views, beautiful living space and bedrooms and everything you could possibly want is at your fingertips. The infinity pool is amazing, the observation tower was awesome and the private hot tub that is tucked away has astonishing ocean views. There is plenty of space in the villa to have quiet time. Each bedroom has its own ocean-view balcony if you want to slip away for some alone time and a glass of wine. Kaleidoscope Villa has become the gold standard. Nothing will ever compare. It was perfect in every way. We can't wait to go back!

"Amazing Location & Outstanding Experience

I have been renting on St John for 8 years and have never returned to the same house twice. Kaleidescope will be the exception. The views from the house are amazing. The amenities such as sat tv in every room, high speed internet, fully stocked wine fridge and a chef's kitchen all contibute to an first class experience. In addition, the staff are very helpful and being able to rent the house directly from the owner was great. If I was to build a house on St John, I would use Kaleidescope as the model!

"NOT A LOCATION, A DESTINATION!!

We were two families traveling together, both with children. The other family had visited St. John's a number of times and said that this was the most beautiful place they had stayed. Kaleidescope felt like our own personal resort. It was perfect for the eight of us in so many ways.

The layout of the villa worked very well for both families. The bedrooms were spacious, well decorated and beautifully appointed. They all had spectacular views and complete privacy. The inside common area (kitchen, dining and living area) knocked our socks off. Everything was thought of, including a stocked wine frig, games and puzzles for the kids, and large screen tv that was rarely turned on. The outside space was perfect with those spectacular views, pool, large patio area and tower! We started every day with breakfast outside overlooking the coastline and ended each day with a drink at sunset in the tower.

The villa's location was perfect for us. It was a short drive to Cruz Bay for anything we might need but was still very private and exclusive. Again, the views along the coast in both directions could not be beat by anything else I saw on St. John's that week. The quiet beach a few steps down the road was charming and had great snorkling.

Jack was a wonderful manager and his assistant on St. John's was always there when we needed him. He checked in to make sure we had everything we needed (and of course we did), and provided some great restaurant and market recommendations.

We have already recommended this villa to many of our friends and would love to return ourselves.

"BEACTIFUL TREASURE!

Your home is truly a work of art. Every little detail adds to the magic you feel while staying there. We have stayed in houses around the Caribbean and hands down yours is the nicest, warmest most beautiful house we have stayed in. "Incredible Villa with Breathtaking Views!

Our 30th anniversary trip to St. John was fantastic!! Kaleidoscope Villa is truly amazing! There is no way to get the full impact of the surrounding beauty when standing on the back patio unless you are there in person. Photographs just don't do it justice. Of course, that didn't keep me from taking hundreds trying to capture the perfect reference photo for my next painting (I'm an artist). We drove all over the island, and I can honestly say that we liked Ditleff Point best of all. When researching St. John, I had originally planned to stay in a Peter Bay? villa...so glad we didn't. It is only minutes to Cruz Bay on good roads from Kaleidoscope and yet it has a remote, secluded feel. The house itself is gorgeous with every amenity you can imagine. Jack and his staff were so helpful and went out of their way to make sure that we had everything that we needed during our stay. We can't wait to go back!

"35th Wedding anniversary in Paradise !

This was our first trip to wonderful St. John, Usvi. Since this was a special occasion, I researched carefully for just the perfect, private, luxurious villa on that island. When I found Kaleidoscope I knew that was the place for us. Kaleidoscope has it all ! Gorgeous 360 degree views that simply take your breath away from the first time you see them until the last look through tears as you are leaving. This home is palatial, yet warm, inviting & better equipped than our own home. The decor, details, welcome amenity, communication and knowing you will be well cared for and safe is the best we've seen.

We had a photo shoot at the villa & the backdrop with breathtaking ocean vistas and the infinity pool ... to die for. Seclusion, peace, serenity & the ability to totally relax was just what we needed. This is a perfect place for families or couples because each bedroom is private yet linked by the awesome kitchen and great room. You can have privacy or togetherness. Everything you could want is there, games, flat screens, pool, jacuzzi, outdoor/ indoor showers, kitchen that made me green with jealosy & every bedroom with a private balcony overlooking the gorgeous bays. And oh... the sunset/ sunrises.God's paintbrush is certainly at work there. We will never go anywhere else ever again when visiting the Carribbean.

Final comment: The only two disappointing things about this villa is the wait til you arrive & then having to leave it all behind.

If you need a respite away from the crazy world we all live in, this is the place for you. You will reconnect, recharge and remember this as your own special piece of paradise on loan from the most generous Jack and Mary O'Rourke. Bless you both !

"We have stayed at many villas over the years throughout the caribbean and without a doubt Kaleidoscope took us to a different place. Set on exclusive Ditleff Point, it is just over the top in so many ways. Start with the house. New, with all the bells and whistles you would put in a house if you had the opportunity to do it yourself. Next, the views. All open and direct views to both sides of the point is just fantastic. You never tire of looking all the way around. And yes, plenty of turtles to see. My wife and I spent ten days there, along with our two grown chidren for part of the time, and our biggest problem was finding a reason to leave the villa to get out and about on the rest of the island, which we ultimately did. Great place. By the way, try the olive oil, garlic, white pizza at Cafe Roma. Wow! We did carry out so we could eat at the villa. It was great eating take out pizza at a dinner table like that. The pizza was also good about 2:00 am on a cruise through the kitchen. We will definitely be returning!

If you can, experience it for yourself. Ditleff point is the best location on St. John for a villa. Years back I hiked out to the point and saw the villa being built. I knew I would investigate its rental opportunity when completed. I'm so glad I did. It was our dream home for the week. The crystal blue ocean views from every imaginable place, the perfect infinity pool, the private beach, the sea turtles in fish bay, the eagle ray we snorkeled with, the solitude and so much more. "We contacted Jack, the owner, and he was easy to work with and patiently answered all our questions. We arrived without a hitch and Brian, the host for Kaleidoscope, met us at the dock and helped us with our bags. We pulled into the drive and I had never in my life seen anything quite like it. The photos online really didn't do it justice. The landscaping was gorgeous and lush. There was absolutely no reason to leave the villa. It was several days before we could peel ourselves away from Ditleff Point. The infinity pool was amazing. It was heated and at night you could turn on an underwater light that changed the water different colors as well as the waterfall. It also had a system that didn't require lots of chlorine, which was a bonus. Ditleff was a great place to walk and explore. It is beautifully planned and landscaped. The beach was pretty calm for the whole trip and the snorkeling can't be beat. We caught a lobster in the bay below the house, but he was just a little guy, so we threw him back to grow up some. The bird watching from the tower was awesome. If they weren't whizzing by 5 feet from your head, they were perched on top. We went and had coffee there almost every morning for sunrise. We were able to see a deer swim clear across Fish Bay. Sunsets were beautiful, as were the moon rises. You could see turtles surfacing in both bays all day long from the pool, the tower, and the verandahs. The tower was my favorite place at the villa. The circular driveway made leaving and coming home a breeze. No 95 point turns! The master bath was a dream with a soaking tub and separate outdoor shower with two shower heads. There was also an indoor shower in another bedroom, if needed on a breezy night. The bedrooms were all equally beautiful and each had a king bed, bath, and private verandah. It is ideal for group travel. There is a neat travertine tunnel below the tower which leads out to a marvelous view and a hot tub. The kitchen at the villa was an epicurean delight. It was the most well equipped of any villa we have ever stayed at. They had a coffee grinder and a salad spinner. Two items we are not used to finding. There really wasn't an item we looked for and didn't find. All of it was great quality cookware. Overall we loved Kaleidoscope and and can't think of a place we would like to return to more."

After vacationing there for a week with my wife, I can honestly say that this villa has exceeded all of my expectations and then some. We dont get to vacation very often so when we do, it is important to us that we can get away from the stress and the rigors of every day life. Right from the start, the owners went out of their way to make sure that my vacation was a smooth operation. The villa itself is on a hill and from the poolside you are able to enjoy spectacular views of the two bays below (fish bay and rendezvous bay). Even with the islands world famous beaches, we were content most days relaxing by the pool and taking in these awesome views. We ate in many nights as well because frankly, no restaurant on the island offers the comforts and the views that you can have dining inside or out on the patio. The villa is stocked with games, books, movies, puzzles, and even snorkel equipment, making it great for families big or small, young and old. For a week we were truly able to relax in a beautiful and serene environment, in large part thanks to this villa! We sincerely hope that we can return on day.

"This was like spending a week inside a beautiful piece of art....

We are a blended family with three, often hard to please teenagers from 19 to 14 years, and two weary parents that were seeking both R&R and family time, if that is possible in this day and age. From arrival, we all saw this place as special. Beyond the physical beauty that many have tried to describe, there is a peace in this place that such beauty creates. We sought out St. John to get away from the texting, email, malls, and the rat race, seeking a more secluded place in which conversation, good book, swim, family meal, winner take all game or simple conversation would be the order of the day. Jack and Mary have created such a place at Ditlifff point, and the world melted away quickly. Instead of asking when we were going somewhere, what the best restrauants are, or where can we go shopping, we heard laughs of fun, challenges for a new game, or can we stay in and just cook here tonight?! We only ventured out for 3 evening meals, despite having researched the greatest restrauants on the island. Between the pleasant seaward breeze, sea turtles, pelicans, snorkleling at the beach, and panoramic views of both Fish and Rendevouz bays, not to mention Ditliff point itself, it is indeed a natural beauty to this place as well. The kids enjoyed their own space (as did the parents), which were extremely comfortable. But we spent most of our time in the Great Room, veranda, or pool, which are all very convenient to each other. We've vacationed across both the US, Europe, and Carrabean, and this is easily the best. Thanks Jack and Mary for our creating a beautiful space, and sharing it with those of us who have found this corner of the world. You have combined a beautiful home within a beautiful place, and it was indeed like spending a week inside a piece of wonderful art.

"Thank you so much Jack and Mary for the most fantastic vacation our family ever took to St. John-- Our two weeks at the villa were wonderful in every way. We have been coming to St. John for years and Kaleidoscope was the best villa we have ever stayed at. The villa is extremely well done and has every luxury you could think of. We found ourselves not wanting to leave the villa, except to walk to the beach. This villa is a 10, The pool was perfect and we nearly spent every waking hour in it. The lay out was great for our family (4 year and 9 month old). We loved watching the turtles everyday. We were also able to see lots of birds, barracudas and sharks from the home. The views were breathtaking as the house straddled two bays. We loved eating outside under the covered veranda with the great St. John trade winds. The kitchen was well equipped with a fabulous grill so much so that we found ourselves wanting to stay at the house and grill for most meals. My husband and I spend countless hours finding our next vacation villa on St, John every year but after our stay at Kaleidoscope, we will never do another search again. This house has it all and is truly heaven on earth. Also, booking, check-in and check-out were seamless. We can’t wait until our next stay at Kaleidoscope."

Via success in sales and corporate award travel, we've been on over a dozen award trips in fourteen years...from Kauai, Barcelona, Rome, St. Andrews, Caneel Bay, Boca Raton, Lake Louise in Banff...to name a few. In all of our travels...we've never experienced such a peaceful place...and we immediately felt so connected to the vision of what you've created. From the beautiful architecture, layout, to the interior design = magnificent. Having spent a lot of time exploring the nooks and crannies of St. John...I would argue that there's no more beautiful place on the island than Ditleff Point. Having snorkeled in multiple locations throughout the week...there was no better reef area that offered such a plethora of marine life than what we observed in Rendezvous Bay. And as icing on the cake...to finally swim with sea turtles on our last day...what a way to put a bow on an already incredible week! Your villa manager Brian was quite a gentleman and was very hospitable upon our arrival. His wife Jessie was terrific on the phone and her mid-week service was great. Brian met us at the ferry, escorted us to the car rental, guided us to the house, and gave us a terrific and comprehensive tour of the property. An amazingly equipped home, EVERYTHING we needed, Kaleidoscope has it... Like other guests reported, we too were immediately greeted by the sea turtles off of the Master Suite on the initial tour! What a way to start off the week! And, as I'm sure you know, almost like clockwork, anywhere from three to five sea turtles would show up in Fish Bay between noon and 6pm...and we'd enjoy watching them from the deck or the pool area. We so enjoyed lounging to music by the pool and nights under the stars at the hot tub / grotto - unforgettable! I wish you all the success in the world with this amazing creation. I can't wait to bring our girls down...and if I have my way...one of them WILL get married there, although that's likely a long time down the road! "To anyone considering a villa in St John or anywhere within the USVI - STOP searching as you have found a truly magnificent home away from home. It is impossible to adequately describe the breathtaking views from every window, refreshing sparkling clean pool with infinity edge, private hot tub with sweeping ocean and mountain views, exquisite home details and the peace and relaxation one feels with the sound of ocean waves crashing on the rocks below. All communication with the owner was prompt, accurate and detailed oriented. Brian, a representative from Kaleidoscope Villa, promptly met us at the ferry landing to take us to the villa. Once there he showed us around the home and grounds describing important details to make our stay effortless while enjoying the MANY amenities of this villa. Truly nothing has been overlooked regarding comfort, convenience, cleanliness or maintenance and we have most definitely already recommended this villa to our family and friends. We will continue to vacation in St John on a regular basis will absolutely return to this magical place. So in closing: vacation here, marry here, honeymoon here or enjoy a special anniversary as any (or all) of these occasions would be a perfect excuse to stay at Kaleidoscope Villa"

"Rating: 5/5 - 'Amazing'

What a beautiful villa. I am sure this comes through in the pictures, but to reaffirm the thoughtfulness that was placed into the build is superior. The finish level is flawless and the furniture is updated-classic and beautiful. The 3 pod floorplan added an air of wonderful openness to the property.

Upon arriving at the villa and walking up to the main door of the house my breath was taken away by the view out to the pool and ocean/Ditleff Point beyond. This was only beat by the view from the tower. It was the perfect place to enjoy the sunset each evening (and for my husband to watch all the turtles!). Additionally the private terrace off of the master made for the perfect sunrise view. While we enjoyed dining out in the evenings, the kitchen had all the amenities we needed for breakfast/lunch.

Ditliff point was a wonderful location. This being the first complete home made the entire point feel exclusively ours. We took a stroll every morning to the end of the point and beach without worry of traffic or beach crowd.

The owner contacted me after the trip and asked what he could improve....my response was nothing. It was simply perfect for our party."

"Everything worked out great! We thoroughly enjoyed Kaleidoscope and now understand what a great name it is for the house as you get a different but equally awe-inspiring view no matter which way you look out from the property. Truly incredible. We did not want to leave! On the Fish Bay side, the turtles surface almost every few minutes just below your house. I also spotted a 3 ft trumpet fish two mornings in a row swimming in a southerly direction, and several spotted eagle rays from your pool deck. One of the rays even leapt out of the water to my amazement!

Everything worked fine in the house, and it was clean upon arrival. The audio/video is a little complicated. We had some trouble trying to figure out how to turn things on and off.
